Cascade View Elementary School

Program Model

Special Education services at Cascade View Elementary are delivered through resource room and specialty classroom models. Our resource room and specialty classroom delivery models support students in reading, written language, math, study skills, behavioral skills and social skills. Students are served through small group pull-out and/or one-to-one sessions, participating in direct instruction and supervised skills practice, working at their instructional level, making progress to the best of their ability, and transitioning, when able, into the regular classroom. Services are adjusted according to individual needs and are guided by the student’s Individualized Education Program. This gives all students opportunities to participate, learn and apply academic and social skills in the most appropriate environment. Assistance is provided to general education staff, as needed, with accommodations, behavior plans, and/or direct support.

When needed, paraprofessionals also assist students in transitioning to and applying skills in the regular classroom.
