Parents and Community Members,
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire staff, I offer an enthusiastic welcome to the 2010-11 school year! The beginning of each school year brings with it new opportunities, and this year will be no exception as we continue our work to develop the social, emotional, and intellectual capacities of the students in our schools.
We are particularly enthused about the launch of our technology initiative this year which will provide resources to increase student learning and further develop the capacity of our teachers to deliver top-quality instruction. Our new “Snoqualmie Valley Virtual Academy” will be available to our high school students at the beginning of the school year as well.
A great deal was accomplished within our construction program last summer, as enhancements to our facilities will result in energy savings and improvements to the school environments within which our students work each day. Also this fall, our long-term facilities plan, including the programming plans for high school utilization of the Snoqualmie Middle
School facility in 2013, will be finalized.
Students in our schools are experiencing success and demonstrating high levels of achievement. We remain committed, however, to continuous improvement — it is our goal to make our schools even better in the future so that our students receive the maximum benefit from their educational experience here. We look forward to a great school year!
Regards,
Joel Aune
