The Snoqualmie Valley School District offers gifted and talented services for highly capable students starting in grade 4 and working up through graduation. The elementary program clusters students by grade level for an entire day of services. Identified students are pulled from their regular classroom into a gifted classroom where they are engaged in accelerated learning strategies and higher level thinking opportunities. Areas of focus include thinking skills, thinking behaviors, mathematics, and language arts.
The middle school program consists of students being served in a combination of accelerated classes in math and reading and pull-out cluster groups in reading and language arts. Identified students are provided opportunities to extend grade level expectations
In high school students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses complete college-level work and prepare for nationally scored tests. Many colleges honor Advanced Placement test scores by granting credit when students enroll.
