Registration is handled at each individual school. Students should live within the attendance boundary of the school in order to register. If a student lives outside the school’s boundary, a variance form is required and space must be available.

Intradistrict transfer forms are available at each school building and at the Snoqualmie Valley School District office.
Students must meet state immunization requirements by bringing proof of immunization from family physician or local health department. The parent or guardian then transfers this information to a certificate of immunization and signs the certificate to verify its accuracy.
Children must be 5 years old by August 31 in order to start Kindergarten the following September. You will need to bring the original birth certificate when registering your student.
The Snoqualmie Valley School District offers two options for kindergarten instruction: Half-Day Kindergarten and Full-Day Kindergarten.
Half-Day Kindergarten is available to all eligible students at all District elementary schools. Because half-time kindergarten is funded in Washington State by state and local dollars, there is no fee to attend. Currently, our district offers two half-day kindergarten sessions (see yellow box below for AM/PM program details).
| Kindergarten Friday Rotation schedule for half-day students: AM and PM half-day Kindergarten students take turns attending school on Fridays throughout the year. This rotation provides the opportunity for a more concentrated learning opportunity for half-day Kindergarten students every other Friday and helps conserves transportation costs. (See links below for the schedule.) This only pertains to half-day Kindergartners, since full-day Kindergartners attend every Friday.
Current year rotation schedule: 2012-13
Parents, please note that on the Fridays that your half-day student is slated to attend, classes start and dismiss on the same schedule as grades 1-5 at your elementary school. (See the E-Calendar for your school's Friday early release times.) Parents also need to make lunch arrangements for their student those Fridays. |
Full-Day Kindergarten is an optional program provided by the Snoqualmie Valley School District on a limited, space-available basis. The program is partially funded by a parent tuition fee, which covers the difference between the state-funded half-day program and the full-day session. The regular district kindergarten curriculum provides the basis for this program. There is additional emphasis on free exploration and enrichment. For families interested in full-day Kindergarten, participation is determined each spring by a lottery process at each elementary school.
Parents or guardians fill out this form during registration. Bring information such as the student’s birth date, address and home phone, mother and father’s employer and work phone numbers, name and phone number of emergency contacts other than parent/guardian, student’s doctor’s name and phone number, names of any medications student takes, and any medical conditions.
If a student is transferring from another school, the parent or guardian must give their consent to transfer records from the student’s previous school. Parent should bring the name, address, and phone number of the previous school.
Students transferring from another school should bring academic records. The school may also ask if the student has been in any special programs in their previous school. Some schools may have additional registration requirements. For further information, call the school.
