Records of Immunizations

Students must meet state immunization requirements by bringing proof of immunization from family physician or local health department. The parent or guardian then transfers this information to a certificate of immunization and signs the certificate to verify its accuracy.

Kindergarten Information

Children must be 5 years old by August 31 in order to start Kindergarten the following September. You will need to bring the original birth certificate when registering your student. Registration day the 2012-13 school year is March 6 from 1:30-3:00 pm and 6:00-7:30 pm at every elementary school.

Half-Time Kindergarten is available to all eligible students at all District elementary schools. Because half-time kindergarten is funded in Washington State by state and local dollars, there is no fee to attend. Currently in this 2011-12 school year, our district offers two half-day kindergarten sessions (see yellow box below for AM/PM program details).

For the 2012-13 school year, the school board is currently considering a revised schedule to save costs. Click here for more information about the proposed "All-Day Alternate-Day" schedule to serve half-time kindergarten students next year.

2011-12 Kindergarten Friday Rotation schedule: AM and PM half-day Kindergarten students will take turns attending school on Fridays throughout the year, starting September 2 with the AM group. Click here for the 2011-12 rotation schedule. (Note: this only pertains to half-day Kindergartners; full-day Kindergartners will attend every Friday.)  Parents, on the Fridays that your half-day student is slated to attend, classes will start and dismiss on the same schedule as grades 1-5 at your school. Also, you will need to make lunch arrangements for your student on those Fridays. (See the E-Calendar for your school's Friday early release times.)

This rotation provides the opportunity for a more concentrated learning opportunity for half-day Kindergarten students every other Friday and conserves transportation costs.

Full-Day Kindergarten is an optional program provided by the Snoqualmie Valley School District on a limited, space-available basis. The program is funded by a tuition fee which covers the difference between the state-funded half-day program and the full-day session. The regular district kindergarten curriculum provides the basis for this program. There is additional emphasis on free exploration and enrichment.
