Parent/Community Involvement

The support from parents and community is vital for this goal to succeed.

District teachers, staff, and parents work together as a team to enhance student learning both at school and at home.

We make our facilities available for community club, group meetings, and sporting events.

Parent Groups

The elementary and middle schools in the Snoqualmie Valley School District are all supported by a PTSA. Each PTSA is a self-governing organization within the parameters of the state and national PTAs, and each one works within its own school.

You can obtain information about the Washington Sate PTA and the National PTA from their respective Web sites.

The High School has three parent groups:

WIN - Wildcat Inspiration Network
This group of parents supports academics, arts, activities and athletics at Mount Si High School with volunteers and money through special events and programs throughout the year.

PAG - Parent Advisory Group
Parents meet monthly to discuss policies, curriculum, and issues related to Mount Si.

WBC - Wildcat Booster Club
This parent group supports the athletic programs at Mount Si. They have fund-raising projects which help in purchasing new equipment, help send athletes to sport training camps, and offer a post high school educational scholarship.

Volunteers

There are many opportunities for parents and community members to volunteer in our schools.

Whether helping in the classroom or driving on field trips, your volunteer hours make a difference to our students. Some examples of how you might volunteer are: reading to students, after school tutoring, chaperoning dances and activities, becoming involved in PTSA, serving on building learning improvement teams, serving on district curriculum committees, and Junior Achievement.
