Chief
Kanim Middle School opened in September, 1991. The school features a commons area, stage
facility, band arena, media center, three grade-level computer labs, four
portable classrooms, a fully functioning video production lab and a
state-of-the-art fitness center that is open to the community. Upgrades to our campus in the past two
years include a new 9,000 sq. ft. gymnasium, new football/soccer field, new
sidewalks, entry trees, and exterior security cameras.

The
staff at Chief Kanim will continue to grow as learners and teachers of
today's youth. It is our hope that
students will make academic progress by way of our ABC’s: Achievement, Belonging, and
Contributing. Our staff has selected
four school improvement goals. The
goal areas are to improve WASL scores in the areas of math, writing, and
reading. We will also focus on staff
development throughout the year. We
will use data from the 06-07 school year to track our progress. We will use results from staff, student,
and parent surveys to give us insight into our school practices. Our clubs and extracurricular activities
boast large numbers of students. This
year we are looking to add some new and exciting clubs to the list. We will collaborate with Snoqualmie Middle
School throughout the year. Snoqualmie
Valley Middle Schools are committed to a safe community environment in which
all students will have the opportunity to experience intellectual, social,
emotional, and physical growth. Our
focus is on Academics~Arts~Activities. |
