Mount Si High School
is the primary educational setting for students in grades 9 through 12 in the
Snoqualmie Valley School District. We
are located in the growing town of Snoqualmie, nearly 25 miles east of
Seattle near the I-90 corridor. Our
school has 65classroom teachers, 3 counselors, a career specialist,
librarian, 4 administrators, and 1300 students. |
|
|
| |
Mount Si has been accredited through the Northwest Association
of Schools since 1943. We are a member school of the KingCo
Conference, one of the finest academic, activity, and athletic conferences in
the State. Academically, we offer a
program designed to meet the needs of all our students, aiming first at
higher education. A wide range of
course offerings are available, including honors, Special Education, Advanced
Placement, and advanced technical classes.
Our exceptional career and technical education programs provide
students with the skills necessary to seek employment or focus their further
education. Tech Prep, NEVAC, and the
High Tech Learning Center offer our students the opportunity to earn college
credit while in high school as well as achieving certification in their field
of study. Mount Si is proud to be an
integral part of the learning community in the Snoqualmie Valley School
District. |

Mount
Si is engaged in on-going staff development to increase student learning and
achievement, and to meet the mandated state standards of the WASL test. Through collaborative efforts of the staff,
Mount Si has achieved a decrease of 10% of students not previously meeting
standards on the WASL tests. Previous
staff development goals included training in higher level thinking skill
strategies, as well as focusing on the success of freshman as they entered
high school. Recently, Mount Si staff
has engaged in writing assessment training, and working toward the teaching
of writing across all curricular departments.
In addition, a focus on student health surveys is being addressed to
provide programs to assist students.
The ASB program continues to achieve success at the state level. Leadership students have been regular
presenters at the state activity conference.
Athletic teams have consistently participated in regional and state
competitions, achieving an unprecedented rate of success in the 2004-05
school year. |
