Other important facts about our students.
Opstad students have shown consistent trends of improvement in academic achievement over the past few years as measured by classroom based assessments and standards based assessments.  Three levels of WASL tests provide us with varied information about our improvement efforts: the 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade WASL.  The 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade WASLs measure student performance relative to Washington State Learning Standards and Grade Level Expectations, rather than a national average.  As the tables below indicate, Opstad 3rd graders perform above state average. This was the first year that 3rd grade WASL scores were reported.  Opstad 4th graders continue to perform well above state averages, and have made solid long term gains.  Opstad's 5th graders perfomed well above state averages and above district averages.
