Community members are invited to attend the District’s 6th annual “Focus on Education” School Tour event on January 31. This special event provides guests the opportunity to learn first-hand about Snoqualmie Valley schools and experience an inspiring day of teaching and learning.
The 2017 Focus on Education Tour will feature
Timber Ridge Elementary School and Mount Si High School
on Tuesday, January 31, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The agenda for the day includes: visiting classrooms, meeting with the Superintendent and principals, learning about key initiatives and future plans, interacting with students, seeing how technology is used in classrooms, riding a school bus, and dining on a gourmet lunch prepared by Mount Si High School’s Culinary Arts students while enjoying special student entertainment. Participants are asked to attend the entire event.
“As educators, we see amazing things happening in our schools every day,” explained Superintendent Joel Aune. “This event provides others in our community a chance to also experience first-hand what it’s like to attend school today. Through classroom tours, guests will see how students are learning, how teachers are engaging them, and how schools are working to meet the changing needs of our students. They will see how schools, with the help of technology, are focused on ensuring all students will be prepared with the skills, resources and confidence they will need to thrive in the future.”
This opportunity is ideal for community members or businesses owners who are new to the area, neighbors who may not have students in school, or anyone who wants to learn more about Snoqualmie Valley schools.
