“Prepare to Integrate Learning Opportunities with Technology”
One of the many requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) is to “encourage the effective integration of technology resources with teacher training to establish research-based instructional methods that can be implemented as best practices.” "Tiers of Technology Integration into the Classroom Indicators" were developed as part of the Washington State Educational Technology Plan. It is a new state requirement that all classroom teachers, librarians, and administrators participate in an annual technology survey and the aggregate results reported to OSPI each March. SVSD staff will be asked to participate in the survey using “PILOT,” an online self-assessment tool, developed by the Educational Technology Support Centers (ETSC) throughout Washington State. Results of the survey are distributed to the district by building, not by individual user. Analysis of the survey will also be used to shape district professional development efforts. The steps for using the PILOT survey are straight forward. Classroom teachers, please follow these instructions to take the 30 question “Technology Integration Survey.”
