As we honor veterans this November, we are encouraging participation in various school events. Activities across the district will celebrate veterans, recognizing their service and contributions. Families and community members are invited to attend, as schools will organize assemblies and special programs.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5! Ballots must be postmarked Nov. 5, or deposited in a drop box by 8 p.m. Nov. 5, to be counted.
Timber Ridge Elementary in the Snoqualmie Valley School District emphasizes social-emotional learning (SEL) to support students' mental health. Fourth-grade teacher Lindsey Cofer integrates daily SEL activities, like morning check-ins and discussions about emotions, to help students manage feelings and develop coping skills. Jessica Ackley, the district's SEL Program Specialist, highlights the importance of teaching self-management to equip students with tools to handle stress. This curriculum is viewed as crucial for student success, complementing academic learning.
