Curriculum Night Is Sept. 22
We are excited to invite parents and guardians into SMS once again for Curriculum Night on Sept. 22.
The event is a great opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with the SMS building, to meet your child’s teachers and learn the systems they’ve initiated in their classes to help your child be successful, and to get a general overview of what your child will experience in classes this year.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the gym with an introductory overview with Principal Megan Botulinski. At 6:15, you will be dismissed to follow your student's schedule (including advisory class) to get a chance to see their classrooms and meet their teachers. Each "class" will be 10 minutes, with a four-minute passing period between each session.
Please bring a copy of your student's schedule with you - use the Family Access app, grab a screenshot, or print a copy at home. Our counselors will be available to assist anyone who forgets to bring a copy, but to avoid waiting, we suggest making sure you have the schedule with you when you arrive.
The schedule for the evening is as follows:
Our parking lot will fill up fast, so we suggest carpooling or parking on Meadowbrook. Overflow parking will be available on the front lawn of the school.
Families are also invited to attend the SMS PTA's first general meeting of the year directly before Curriculum Night, at 5:15 p.m. in the SMS gym. Take this opportunity to meet your PTA officers, join the PTA if you haven't already, and learn more about the many ways the PTA helps support the students and staff throughout the year at SMS.
We look forward to seeing you on Sept. 22!
