Accepting Referrals For Highly Capable Testing
-
We are now accepting highly capable testing referrals for students in grades 1-7. The nomination period will remain open until Friday, January 6.
As a reminder, a nomination does not automatically qualify a student to test. All referrals will be reviewed by the Highly Capable Advisory Committee to determine if testing for highly capable services meets the district’s established criteria.
Highly capable testing determines eligibility for placement for the 2023-2024 school year. Students currently in grades 1-4 may test for math and/or ELA cluster class placement at the student’s home school or the STREAM program located at Snoqualmie Elementary School.
Students currently in grades 5-7 test for middle school ELA cluster classes. Middle school math pathway placement takes place in spring during the school day.
Nomination forms must be received by the SVSD District Office or postmarked no later than January 6, 2023.
Here are a few reminders required for testing:-
Students must be present after school on the required days of testing for their grade.
- Grades 1-4 (Feb. 3 & March 3)
- Grades 5-7 (Feb. 3)
-
Testing will take place after school at the student’s elementary or middle school.
-
Alternate testing days are not available.
-
Students may test only one time for highly capable services between August and July.
-
District transportation is not provided.
More information about the testing process can be found on our High Capable Testing webpage. If you have any questions, please reach out to us. For all elementary inquiries contact laned@svsd410.org. For all questions regarding middle school contact altert@svsd410.org. -
