Wildcat Teams Host Regional Robotics Competition
-
On Sunday, Dec. 4, Mount Si High School hosted the FIRST Tech Challenge: Spencer League Meet 2 in which 15 robotic teams from area schools competed. Teams from Renton, Bellevue, Sammamish, and Newcastle schools joined our Wildcat Robotics students in this all-day competition. From 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., students worked in teams to create, collaborate, test, and adjust their robots in preparation for matches. This year’s contest called PowerPlay is presented by Raytheon Technologies. See details about the game and concept behind it on this PowerPlay webpage.
Four teams represented Mount Si High School this year, plus a fifth team chose to observe, involving approximately 45 of our local students! Our students had fun and placed as follows:
- SiBorgs - 7th
- Furball Force - 8th
- Catapult - 11th
- Cataclysm - 13th
Mount Si Computer Science teacher & Robotics coach Kyle Warren said student interest in robotics continues to grow – both in terms of Robotics class enrollment, and participation in these exciting team competitions. Snoqualmie Valley high school students interested in learning more about robotics should contact Mr. Warren at warrenk@svsd410.org.
