CVES Spelling Bee

  • Principal Long with spelling bee winners

What do you do with a school full of amazing spellers? Hold two spelling bees in one week!

The competition started Tuesday evening with more than 30 K-3 students who spelled their hearts out at the Mini Spelling Bee. In the end, it all came down to third-graders Ryan Sivadasan and Sophia Richter, who went back and forth vying for the top spot. Ultimately, Ryan was crowned champion, but all the competitors did a great job!

Wednesday's event brought more exciting competition as our fourth- and fifth-grade spellers battled for the title of CVES Spelling Bee Champion. Congratulations to our top speller, fourth grader Matias Testman, and our runner-up, fifth grader Samir Mathew, who outlasted a tough field of competitors! Wish Matias luck as he prepares to compete in the regional spelling bee on March 26.

spelling bee winnersThank you to all our student spellers for participating, and to the CVES PTSA and all the adult volunteers who helped make this event possible!
