Design: To reduce costs and save time, the new school design leverages the model developed for Cascade View Elementary School (built in 2005), with some adaptations based on the property configuration and suggestions from CVES staff. See renderings of the proposed design below, by TCF Architecture, or click here for a virtual tour.
Design renderings of Elementary School #6.This image shows the land topography and how the elementary building designwill be situated on the property.
Background: Several factors contributed to the need for adding a sixth elementary school. The combination of state mandated full-day kindergarten being required for all students, anticipated funding from the state to reduce class size at the elementary level, and continued enrollment growth in our district, is creating an urgent need for more classroom space to serve all elementary school students. A new elementary school will alleviate overcrowding in all five of the District’s elementary schools. Currently, Snoqualmie students attend four different elementary schools throughout the District to balance school enrollment.
Funding in the 2015 bond to construct the new elementary school is $35 million. Prior to the bond, the District also spent a significant amount of impact fees for designing and permitting the new school, so that construction could begin immediately after voters approved the bond.
