Frau Bellersen Lee

I love being outside, chocolate, books, quilting, and German. I dislike raw onions, traffic, and washing dishes.

Originally from Lake Goodwin, Washington, I started my German journey as a high school exchange student with the Congress-Bundestag Exchange program. I lived in a town of 600 people, where I learned German, played on the local soccer team, and played tenor horn at festivals with the local Pfarrkapelle. Later, I studied German in college. I was lucky enough to spend a year living in Munich, attending the Ludwig-Maximillian University. After graduation, I spent two years teaching English in Bregenz, Austria before moving back to the Seattle area. After teaching preschool at a German immersion school and getting an M.A. in Teaching Foreign Languages in California, I returned to Seattle.

My husband, son, and I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and hanging out at home with our dog, Ted, our 3 chickens, and two hives of bees.
