Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Annie Collet. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself...
This is my first year at Fall City Elementary. After obtaining my undergraduate degree in Individual and Family Development at Seattle Pacific University, I spent some time traveling in Europe. I became a nanny and lived in France for about 9 months. I loved learning the language and being immersed in another culture! After my return, I began working as an assistant teacher at the French Immersion School of Washington. I was there for 2 ½ years working primarily with preschoolers and kindergarteners, as well as running an after school program for pre-K through 5th graders. This is when I fully realized my desire to become a teacher and inspire students. It’s also where I met my husband, Patrice, who teaches kindergarten. I went on to complete the Master in Teaching program at Seattle University.
I love teaching and I feel so fortunate to be part of the wonderful community at Fall City Elementary School! In my few short weeks here I have already felt such support, encouragement and caring from my colleagues and the parents of my students. I look forward to spending the school year with your child and watching them grow.
In my spare time I love doing outdoor activities like hiking and running. When it's raining (as it often does in the NW!) I enjoy reading, going out to dinner and a movie, and recreating crafts I find on pinterest. I am also passionate about traveling and learning about new cultures. Above all, however, I treasure spending time with my family and friends.
I am eager to start our adventure in second grade together!
