The Mount Si Wildcats finished first in the KingCo league this year, with a conference record of 10-4 and an overall record of 13-8. Mason Marenco, a senior at Mount Si High School, was named the KingCo 4A League Player of the Year at the conclusion of the season. He was also named to the KingCo all-league first team at Shortstop.

    Several of his Mount Si teammates also received KingCo honors, including Owen Roche, First Team, First Base; Matt Doleweski, First Team, Outfield; Gavin Gorrell, First Team, Pitcher; and Justin Lutz, Second Team, Catcher; Mount Si athletes earning Honorable Mentions included Carson Corra, Nick Solomon, Ben Keller, and Jake Simmons.

    Girls Golf at State
    Mount Si Girls Golf placed 3rd at the KingCo Tournament and District Qualifiers!  The team also placed 4th at the Suncadia Invitational out of 23 teams.  Kat Hodgson and Tori Berger qualified for State - Kat placed 5th at Districts and Tori qualified as an alternate.  At State, Kat was part of a very deep, talented field of 80 players and represented Mount Si tremendously well. Kat finished the tournament tied for 13th and shot 155 over the two days. This was her 2nd time participating in the State Tournament and both girls will be back next year. Congratulations!

    Seven Mount Si athletes qualified for State: Hannah Waskom in the 1600 and 3200 meter run, Riley Ovall in the Javelin, Jenae Usselman in the Javelin, and Kali Barlow in the Discus. For the boys, Jacob Belceto qualified in the 100 and 200 meters, Joe Waskom in the 1600 and 3200 meters, and Matt Proctor in the 110 Hurdles.
    Hannah Waskom, Kali Barlow, and Jenae Usselman all won Seaking District Championships and Jacob Belceto and Joe Waskom were Seaking champs as well.

    MSHS Sends 6 Gymnasts to State!
     6 Mount Si Gymnasts competed in the State competition on February 17th at the Tacoma Dome.  Samantha Holmes, Shelby Johnson, Anna Steenvoorde, Taylor Zweifelhofer, Morgan Lowell & Sarah Christopherson
    Senior Mason Marenco named 2017 KingCo Wrestler of the Year! 
    Congrats to our 2017 Wrestlers moving on to State: Brennan Dalgleish, Mason Marenco, Duncan Harrison, Kinsey Steskal & Spencer Marenco (alternate). 
    With new head coach, Jason Griffith, a new era began with Wildcat Basketball!  Mount Si grew in fundamentals and confidence to finish 5th overall in the KingCo League and make the league tournament.  Senior Gavin Gorrell and Freshman Jabe Mullins were honored with KingCo All-League Second Team honors.

    Outstanding season for Boys Golf as they finished in first place in the 4A KingCo League (tied with Newport and Eastlake).  We are sending three to state in May 2017 including Freshman Drew Warford, and Seniors Jordan Lau and alternate, Jake Brady.  Warford finished in 2nd place in Districts, Lau finished 7th, and Brady finished 12th to qualify for State. And congratulations to Head Coach, Brandon Proudfoot, selected as KingCo Coach of the Year!

     Varsity Girls XC qualified for State after placing 2nd in the 4A KingCo Championships.  Congratulations to Senior Hannah Waskom and Sophomore Joe Waskom for their 1st place finishes!  Also qualifying for State are Seniors Grant Baker, Jackson Stokes, and Lindsey Sydnor.
    Girls Swim
    Our Girls Swim team grew to 40 members this year.  Swimmers competing at the KingCo Championships:  Yoshikawa, Crumb, Brestin, Moulten, Smith, Dalgleish, Britell, Moss, Bourgault, Kloefkorn,  Cooney, Spellman, and Winder.
    Swimmers that qualified for Districts:  Emi Yoshikawa and Julia Crumb. Congratulations!
     All-State Cheer

    75 cheerleaders from around the state competed for a place on the Washington State All State Cheer Team. This event was sponsored by the Washington State Cheer Coaches Association.


    Five Mount Si Cheerleaders (Erin Wollerton, Avery Barrett, Halle Nicholson, Abby Mandella, Annie Bluher) were selected to compete as Finalists. Three of them (Halle Nicholson, Abby Mandella, Annie Bluher) were selected for the All-State Team! There were only 25 cheerleaders from around the state selected to the All-State Team, and Mount Si had 3 of them!


    In addition, Mount Si’s Abby Mandella was the runner-up of the entire competition! Way to go Cats!

    Dance to State  

    Congratulations to the Mount Si Dance Team that qualified for State in the 4A Military Category.  Mount Si has not had a dance team at State since 2004. Congratulations to:
