Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! My name is Kelli Marek, and I am SO excited to be teaching at Fall City Elementary School! I started my teaching career at FCES 11 years ago, teaching 1st grade. After that, I taught kindergarten here for 6 years, before moving to the Issaquah School District for two years, where I taught 2nd grade. During my two years away from the district, my family and I decided that the Snoqualmie Valley is where we belong, so we moved to North Bend a year and a half ago, and I got to come back "home" to work at FCES last year! We couldn’t be happier with our decision. My Fall City Family is so important to me, and if you haven’t experienced it yet, I’m sure you’ll soon come to know that this school community is something truly special.
I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year, and I know that we will have a wonderful year learning and growing together. Teaching is a passion for me, and I feel privileged to be entrusted with your precious children each day. You are the “expert” on your child, and I know that parents can be one of a teacher’s greatest resources. I look forward to getting to know YOU, in addition to your child, so we can work together to ensure that your child has a wonderful, successful, 1st grade year. I LOVE my job, and the children, families, and teachers I get to know along the way.
I grew up in the Renton Highlands, and graduated from Liberty High School in the Issaquah School District, before going to college at Seattle University . I earned my Bachelors and Masters degrees from SU, and I also played 3rd base for the women’s softball team — Go Redhawks! When I am not at school I love spending time with my family, which includes my husband, “Mr. P.”, my daughters, Hailie (age 5 and an FCES kindergartener this year) and Molly (age 3), and our two wheaten terriers, Mo and Marley. We love to camp, be outdoors, play sports, and spend time with our many friends and family in the area.
It's going to be a wonderful year!
