    Technology 1 - Geared for the 6th Grade student.  An introduction to Graphic Design using Photoshop. Participation in a real-life application of planning a trip somewhere in the world using Internet research and the Google Suite. Final project using digital photography, Photoshop and Google Slides to create the presentation.

    #1 Graphic Design - Using Adobe Photoshop edit photo of yourself following criteria listed on assignment.  This will be an introduction to Photoshop teaching the basic elements that will be expanded on over the next two years in technology classes.  Students will storyboard the design before beginning work.

    1.1.1 Integration - Generate ideas and create original works for personal and group expression using a variety of digital tools.

    1.2.1 - Integration - Communicate and collaborate to learn with others.

    1.3.1 Integration - Plan a project using online tools.

    #2 “Travel the World” - Real-life application using Google Documents, Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Slides.  Web search and team collaboration to design a trip to another country on a set budget. Present to class. Save Google Slides as PowerPoint.

    This project crosses into other educational areas such as mathematics, Language Arts, and Social Studies.

    #3 Colors Photography - Take photographs where the main focus/subject is of various colors. Students can use Photoshop or other online editing software to edit photos and/or add text,  Use Photoshop, Google Slides or other online tools to type in the quote (no cut & paste).  Use Google Slides to turn in final presentation..

    1.3.1 Integration - Plan a project using online tools.

    2.2.2 Digital Citizenship - Maintain and use digital equipment effectively.

    2.3.1 - Digital Citizenship - Select and use common applications.  Use different  multimedia software.

    Digital Project Showcase - All student projects will be compiled into a showcase/display for other students, teachers, parents to view.

    All Projects:

    2.1.1 Digital Citizenship - Practice personal safety, understand passwords, privacy and anonymity.\

    2.1.2 Digital Citizenship -Practice ethical and respectful behavior.  Identify and cite Creative Commons images in online presentations. Cite sources properly.

    2.2.1 Digital Citizenship - Develop skills to use technology effectively.  Save or backup information to appropriate location, organize and manage files and folders between school, home and online.

    2.3.2 Digital Citizenship - Select and use online applications.  Use interactive online tools to comment, link, post and embed information (e.g. Google Classroom), communicate with teachers and peers.
