Online Summer Program 2023

The MSHS Online Summer Program is a 6-week-long, 100% online program that provides the opportunity for current high school students (GY 2024, 2025 & 2026) to earn .5 high school credit or recover up to 1.0 high school credit.
The program is also offered to current 8th grade students/incoming Freshmen (GY 2027) to earn .5 high school credit of Health or PE.
Online courses available through our program are offered by the following accredited provider:- Imagine Learning (Edgenuity)
Online courses are asynchronous - meaning that students can work ahead and there is no penalty for late work. Students will work from home or wherever you have access to the internet (YES...you can travel and work on your online course).The online Summer Program offers the following support:- Certificated Online Teacher - Online teachers are contractors, not MSHS staff: connect via email, phone/office hours provided within the course. Access to on-demand tutoring is available 7 days a week.
- MSHS Mentor is available for in-person or virtual support. Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
- Embedded tools and accommodations might include digital note taking, read-aloud, dictionaries & translation.
- Progress Tracker and course pacing guide tools to help you complete your course on time.

Course Options For Current MSHS Students
(GY 2024, 2025 & 2026)
Diagnostic Credit Recovery (limit 2 semester .5 courses) $350 each
Students may repeat a previously failed semester course (.5) for the opportunity to recover credit by earning a Pass or Fail upon completion of the course. See enrollment form or course list for Credit Recovery options.
- The curriculum is tailored to students who need extra help to master content by using simplified explanations, interactive lessons with narrated audio clips, and vocabulary links.
- Students can work online at their own pace, repeating or proceeding quickly through lessons as needed.
- Built-in tools: text-to-speech and translation support for 65+ languages, online note taking, dictionary, screen masking and more.
- Diagnostic courses: unit or module-level assessments measure mastery of critical concepts and release content in accordance with the individual needs of the student.
Credit Enhancement (limit 1 semester .5 course) $400 each
Motivated students may take a semester course (.5) earning a letter grade, according to the MSHS grading scale, upon completion of the course. Available core courses are limited to Health, PE (.5), Civics, Contemporary World Problems, Physical Science and Geometry. See course list for elective options. Please be sure your counselor has approved your course selections and verified availability.
Course Options For Incoming Freshmen (GY 2027)
Credit Enhancement (limit 1 semester .5 course) $400 each
Motivated students may take either Physical Education* or Health earning a letter grade, according to the MSHS grading scale, upon completion of the course.
*NOTE: Summer School online PE does not replace Freshman year PE. This credit will count towards your additional .5 PE requirement.
