-
Clock Hour/Credit Information and FAQs
Clock hours are units of credit assigned to educators at a professional development/training event and can be accrued by Washington State educators toward continuing education requirements and advancement on the salary schedule.
- 1 clock hour = 0.1 quarter credit; 10 clock hours = 1 quarter credit.
- All courses must be a minimum of 1 clock hour to be accepted.
- OSPI and SVSD are completely separate. SVSD cannot access clock hours submitted to OSPI and vice versa.
- Clock hours must be earned from an OSPI approved clock hour provider.
-
How To View Clock Hours Used for Salary Placement
To view which credits and clock hours have been used to determine your placement on the salary schedule:
1. Log into Skyward Employee Access.
2. Select Employee Information.
3. Select Personal Information.
4. Within Personnel section, select Prof Development.
All credits and clock hours will be listed. Please note that the number of courses shown is limited by the number of records set to display. At the bottom of the screen, you can increase the display number using the drop-down.
- For easy manipulation, you can export the records in Excel (xlsx) format.
- Select “View Edu & Exp Summary” to view total clock hours, experience and highest degree.
-
