About SVSD
The Snoqualmie Valley School District (SVSD) is located in the scenic foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State, approximately 30 miles east of Seattle. The District is one of the largest school districts in the state (geographically), spanning more than 400 square miles while serving communities in Snoqualmie, North Bend, Fall City and surrounding areas of unincorporated King County. Snoqualmie Valley’s award-winning schools support approximately 7,200 students, ranging in ages from preschool through 12th grade, and students with disabilities ages 3-21.
Our 13 schools provide rigorous academic curriculum, robust career training options, a broad range of extracurricular activities, extensive technology resources and student support services, in a positive and safe environment. Since 2019, our One-to-one Computing Initiative equipped all students in grades 6-12 with a laptop to use at home and school, ensuring equitable access to learning resources. With a commitment to school improvement, significant support goes to cultivating great teaching. Educators have access to superior professional development, instructional coaching, and in-depth technology training, support and resources.
Student achievement and a well-rounded education are top priorities for all students in our district, to help prepare individuals for the futures they seek. Our four-year district graduation rate is 92.7%, and our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program offers useful hands-on training and exposure to compelling career options. On a national website (schooldigger.com), the Snoqualmie Valley School District was ranked 5th (among 247 districts) in Washington State in 2025, and Mount Si High School was ranked 19th out of 438 public high schools. MSHS has also been named on recent national "Best High Schools" lists by US News & World Report for placing in the top 10% of rated schools. Additionally, Snoqualmie Valley School District received awards for "Best Communities for Music Education," based on our award-winning band, choir and orchestra programs.
Student enrollment has grown 12% over the past 10 years, resulting in a thriving school district comprised of:
- six elementary schools (K-5),
- three middle schools (6-8),
- one comprehensive high school (9-12),
- one Big Picture high school (9-12),
- one Early Learning Center (PreK),
- a parent partnership program (Meadowbrook School) for families who prefer to school their children at home (K-12),
- and a 100% Online Learning option (K-12).
Thanks to the community’s support of a 2015 school bond, the district completely rebuilt, expanded and modernized Mount Si High School to serve up to 2,300 students in grades 9-12. The "new" Mount Si High School opened fall of 2019, with its beautiful new Performing Arts Center opening 2021. The bond also funded construction of our newest elementary school, Timber Ridge, built in 2016. In 2025, the district renovated a district-owned building to create our Early Learning Center, using the last of the bond funding earmarked to consolidate and expand our preschool services.
Life in the Snoqualmie Valley offers small-town community connections, as well as close proximity to urban amenities. Residents have access to stunning views, abundant outdoor opportunities (skiing, hiking, biking, golfing, river recreation, etc.), and unique natural wonders such as Snoqualmie Falls, Mount Si, and a local herd of 400+ elk. In addition to high-performing schools, the one-time timber and railroad communities feature small shops, family-owned restaurants, and seasonal farmers markets and festivals.
