Current Step

Updating the Mission and Vision Statement

The first step in our process of creating the Strategic Plan is developing updated mission and vision statements. These updates are aimed at more clearly defining our organization's purpose and aspirations, ensuring they reflect our current objectives and future goals.

Mission Statement Update: Our mission statement articulates what we do, how we do it, and why. This update will refine our present activities and aspirations, ensuring clarity and relevance in our daily operations and strategic goals.

Vision Statement Update: Our vision statement serves as our guiding beacon, outlining our long-term goals and the impact we strive to have on our students and the communities we serve. This revision will focus on enhancing our forward-looking goals, embodying our aspirations for growth and our commitment to improving for our community .

These updates will ensure our organization continues to resonate with community values and strategic direction, guiding our actions today and shaping our future achievements.

Mission and Vision Process

Steps Tasks

Identify and meet with stakeholders

Our vision statement speaks on behalf of our entire district. This step involves using stakeholder groups to help craft our statement so that it represents our organization as a whole

Process for stakeholder feedback

Identify a key list of words.  Ultimately, we're aiming to craft a few concise sentences. The process of crafting those sentences will be a lot easier if you have a "word bank" to draw from. (approx. 8-10 min)

Answer foundational questions through stakeholder feedback

Compile above from all stakeholder feedback meetings

Sort by importance

Draft mission and vision

School Board drafts from feedback compilation

Evaluate

Gather feedback from stakeholders

Write the final mission and vision

Once you've adjusted your vision paragraph and made the changes you wanted to make, it's time to edit your vision paragraph down to a vision statement. In many cases, your paragraph may naturally shrink as you solicit and implement feedback from others, and you may even want to specifically ask for opinions on how your paragraph could be more concise

Next Steps

Reviewing Data and Input

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our strategic initiatives and operations, we are dedicated to reviewing data and gathering  input. This process is crucial for ensuring that our decisions are informed, relevant, and effective.

Data Review: We continuously assess the data we collect across various facets of our district. This includes performance metrics, feedback from stakeholders, and assessment trends. By analyzing this information, we can identify strengths, pinpoint areas needing improvement, and uncover opportunities for innovation.

Gathering Input: Engaging with our community is essential. We seek out the voices of our families, employees, and community partners to understand their experiences and needs. This input is invaluable as it helps us to refine our strategies and ensure they are aligned with the expectations and requirements of those we serve.

Outcome: The integration of comprehensive data review and community input enables us to make informed decisions that drive progress and foster  growth. This approach not only supports our strategic objectives but also strengthens our commitment to transparency and accountability.

Identifying Our Priorities and Goals

As we move forward, it is essential that we clearly define our priorities and set strategic goals. This process helps ensure that every initiative and decision aligns with our broader mission and contributes to our vision for the future.

Setting Priorities: Our approach to setting priorities involves a thorough analysis of our current student outcomes, operations, and community needs. By understanding these dynamics, we can pinpoint where our efforts will have the most significant impact. This prioritization ensures that we allocate our resources effectively, focusing on areas that promise the most substantial benefits for our stakeholders and our organization.

Establishing Goals: Once our priorities are set, we establish clear, measurable goals. These goals are designed to be specific, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. They serve as benchmarks for success, guiding our teams and providing a clear roadmap to follow. Our goals not only motivate but also provide a framework for accountability and progress.

Continuous Evaluation: Identifying priorities and setting goals is an ongoing process. As such, we will evaluate our progress and adjust our strategies to meet emerging challenges and leverage new opportunities. This adaptive approach ensures we remain flexible and responsive to change while staying on track to achieve our objectives.

Engagement and Transparency: Throughout this process, we will strive to maintain a high level of engagement with our community and stakeholders. We believe in transparency and open communication, ensuring that our priorities and goals reflect the collective vision and needs of those we serve.
