Parent Requirement

The Snoqualmie Valley School District is committed to providing all students with a free and appropriate public education that aligns with best practice, current research, and Washington age and grade guidelines by enrolling students in Kindergarten when they have turned five no later than August 31 in the current school year. However, parents have the right to seek early entrance to kindergarten when they believe their child is sufficiently advanced in global development. 

Early Entrance to Kindergarten Parent Requirement

 In accordance with the Snoqualmie Valley School District Early Entrance to Kindergarten process, your child must participate in and complete a psychoeducational assessment in the following areas: 

  • Cognitive Development 
  • Social | Emotional Development 
  • Adaptive Development 
  • Academic Readiness + Achievement (Reading | Writing | Mathematics) 
  • Speech + Language Development 
  • Motor Development 
  • Visual Perceptual Development 

State-Licensed Psychologists

The following is a list of state-licensed psychologists who conduct psychoeducational evaluations and is being provided to assist families in locating a qualified psychologist. The District does not recommend or endorse any providers and does not assume financial responsibility. Families should research providers, including qualifications, fee structures, etc. to determine the best fit for their circumstances.

The psychoeducational evaluation will be reviewed by the Early Entrance to Kindergarten Committee and final determinations shared by the advertised dates. All determinations are final and are not subject to appeal.
