Elementary Class Roster Development Process
The Snoqualmie Valley School District takes student placement seriously. Each year, school teams spend significant time creating balanced class rosters that support both individual students and the overall learning environment.
Many factors are considered, including academic needs, social and behavioral dynamics, work habits, and a balance of students across classrooms. Our goal is to build strong, supportive learning communities where all students can succeed.
Families are invited each spring to share input about their child using the Parent Input Regarding Student Placement form. This input is valued and considered alongside other factors, but it is not a request for a specific teacher. Only written input submitted through the form will be used in the placement process.
Class rosters are developed in May and may be adjusted throughout the summer as enrollment and staffing change. Final placements are available in Skyward Family Access before the first day of school. Families will receive more information as we get closer to the start of the school year.
We appreciate our partnership with families and are committed to making thoughtful placement decisions that support every student.
