Summer Math 1
Course Info: This course is an asynchronous, online summer math class that covers the key standards in Math 1 (Common Core 6). The course is 6 weeks long and students who register will need to dedicate 1-3 hours a day to complete the course. The time per day will depend on students’ aptitude and pace in which they learn the math and complete the assessments. The course is taught by SVSD Math teachers and aligns with our scope and sequence to best prepare students who are heading into Math 2-3 in 6th grade.
Eligibility: Students must be eligible to take this course.
There are 2 ways to be eligible for Summer Math 1:
- Students were recommended for Pathway C but earned an 88 or higher on their CogAT and earned a Level 4 on the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) for Math in 4th or 5th grade.
- Students were recommended for Pathway D and just want to ensure readiness/confidence in math.
