SVSD Seeks Pro/Con Statement Committee Members
The Snoqualmie Valley School District will have two renewal levy measures on the February 10, 2026 ballot:
-
Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Levy, four year renewal
-
Technology Capital Projects (Tech) Levy, four year renewal
As part of the election process, King County requires school districts to appoint committee members to prepare pro and con statements for each measure. SVSD is preparing for the February Ballot in accordance with all regulations, transparency expectations, and the timelines required by King County Elections.
The district must submit the names of committee members to King County by December 12, so the School Board will approve committee appointments during its December 11 meeting. Residents who want to be considered for a pro or con committee must complete the online application located at the bottom of the page by December 10 at 5 p.m.
About the Pro and Con Committees
The King County Voters Pamphlet will include supporting “pro” and opposing “con” statements, along with rebuttals, for each levy measure. SVSD will appoint members to both the pro and con committees for each levy.
Committee members are responsible for writing the statements that will appear in the voters pamphlet. Each committee may include up to three members, and members are allowed to seek input from others as they develop their statements.
-
The Pro Committee writes a statement of up to 200 words and a rebuttal of up to 75 words responding to the Con Committee statement.
-
The Con Committee writes a statement of up to 200 words and a rebuttal of up to 75 words responding to the Pro Committee statement.
All committee members must be residents of the Snoqualmie Valley School District. Each committee must designate one spokesperson who will communicate directly with King County Elections. Additional details are available through the King County Elections information packet.
