Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation

The Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation (SVSF) encourages excellence and assures opportunities in education for every student, in every school, every day in the Snoqualmie Valley School District.

This non-profit organization began in 1988 and is comprised of caring volunteers who donate 100% of their annual fundraising efforts to support District-wide Initiatives and Classroom Innovation Grants that benefit all Snoqualmie Valley schools!

Below are the programs that SVSF is supporting this school year.

A Movie Day to Remember!

Thanks to a generous Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation grant, FCES and TRES students enjoyed a special trip to the historic North Bend Theater for an unforgettable movie experience and community connection.

Students observing through microscopes in Science Class

We would like to sincerely thank the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation for supporting our science classrooms and helping us enhance microscopy skills across grade levels. One of the most rewarding experiences is watching students have those “wow” moments, when curiosity turns into real discovery.

8th Grade STEM Enrichment Students at Twin Falls Middle School

Our 8th Grade STEM Enrichment students at Twin Falls Middle School have been busy designing and creating custom name keychains in Tinkercad, made possible by the Snoqualmie Schools Foundation’s generous grant, “Enhancing STEM Learning through 3D Printing.”

2025-26 District-Wide Initiatives

The Snoqualmie Valley School District is celebrating an extraordinary $100,000 gift from the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation. Members of the SVSF Board presented the ceremonial big check to district leaders, highlighting the Foundation’s continued commitment to expanding opportunities and supporting students across the district.

District leaders emphasized that partnerships like this one play a critical role in turning vision into action. The Foundation’s support helps ensure that programs aligned with district priorities continue to grow and reach students who benefit most.

SVSF President Steven Freygang noted that the donation reflects the Foundation’s mission to support meaningful learning experiences for all students. “We are proud to invest in programs that remove barriers, expand opportunities, and support student well-being,” Freygang said. “This community cares about kids, and we’re honored to play a part in helping them grow and thrive.”

The district extends heartfelt thanks to the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation for their unwavering support of students, staff, and families throughout the Snoqualmie Valley.

The $100,000 contribution will support several key initiatives across the district:

  • Fifth Grade Camp - A long-standing tradition in SVSD, outdoor camp brings students together for teamwork, resilience, and hands-on learning. The Washington State Legislature did not renew funding for the Outdoor Learning Grant Program. As a result, the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation’s support helps offset rising costs and ensures every fifth-grade student can continue to participate in outdoor camp.

  • Emergency Supplies Refresh -Funds will help schools update critical emergency supplies. These updates ensure that every school is equipped to care for students in an emergency.

  • Enrichment for Schools Without a PTSA- Some district schools do not have a PTSA to fund enrichment experiences. The Foundation’s support ensures all students have access to engaging activities such as field trips, assemblies, and special classroom programs.

  • Care Solace - Care Solace provides confidential mental health care coordination for students and families. Continued Foundation funding helps sustain this key support service across the district.

  • World Language and the Seal of Biliteracy - The donation will expand access to world language learning and testing so students can earn the Seal of Biliteracy, which recognizes advanced proficiency in multiple languages.

  • MTSS Screener Pilot at Secondary Schools - Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) screeners help staff identify student needs early in areas such as academics, behavior, and social-emotional learning. Foundation funding enables educators to utilize these tools to provide targeted, timely support.

  • LETRS and Early Literacy Support -This ongoing investment supports educators participating in LETRS training, which provides evidence-based professional learning in early literacy. The work strengthens reading instruction and supports strong literacy foundations for young learners.

2025-26 Classroom Innovation Grants

In addition to supporting District-Wide Initiatives, the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation also awards a wide variety of classroom innovation grants to enhance learning. This year they will provide nearly $25,000 in grants for which all Snoqualmie Valley educators can apply. Some focus on one subject, an entire grade level or a specific program school, depending on the specific ideas submitted by our educators.
