Computer Science Education Week

December 6–12 marks Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek), a national celebration recognizing the importance of computer science in our schools and the opportunities it creates for students.

CSEdWeek is the largest learning event in history, aiming to engage K-12 students in computer coding and foster interest in computer science. One key initiative during this week is the Hour of Code, where students dedicate an hour to hands-on coding activities. This celebration emphasizes essential skills like problem-solving, analytical thinking, and computer literacy — skills that are in high demand in today’s job market.

In Snoqualmie Valley School District, our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team collaborates with our Technology Department to reimagine and expand K-12 STEM learning opportunities. From elementary coding programs funded by levies and grants to advanced high school courses and clubs, we are committed to preparing students for a tech-driven future.

We’re excited to showcase just a few examples of how our students are exploring computer science across the district.
