Honoring Veterans

Snoqualmie Valley schools have many special events planned on November 7 and 8, to honor local veterans and family members who have served our country.  Below are details by school, with instructions for veterans who would like to join us as special guests of honor at school assemblies. Additionally, classroom activities are planned to honor of Veterans Day at Parent Partnership Program as a collaborative lesson; Twin Falls Middle School through varied lessons; and in History classes at Two Rivers Big Picture School

Our school district will be closed Monday, November 11, in observance of the national Veterans Day holiday.

Cascade View Elementary

Veterans Day Assembly & Reception 

Date: Friday, Nov. 8
Times: 9:45 a.m.
Location: CVES Multi-Purpose Room

Instructions for Guests:

Fall City Elementary

Veterans Day Assembly & Reception 

Date: Friday, Nov. 8
Time: 9:30 a.m.
Location: FCES Gym

Instructions for Guests:  

  • Proceed to the gym when you arrive.
  • Veterans and families are invited to a reception following the assembly.

North Bend Elementary

Veterans Day Assembly

Date: Thursday, Nov. 7
Times: 9:30 – 10:15 a.m.
Location: NBES Gym

Instructions for NBES Families with veterans:

  • Families may submit a slide (PowerPoint or Google slide) that includes their veteran’s name, branch, rank, relation to NBES, a photo, and any other information.
  • Submit their family's veterans slide to Tom Cady by Sunday, Nov. 3.
  • RSVP for veteran guests and family members who accompany them.

Opstad Elementary

Timber Ridge Elementary

Veterans Day Reception & Assembly

Date: Thursday, Nov. 7
Times: Veteran Reception at 1:45 p.m.; 
Assembly at 2:15 p.m.
Location: TRES Multi-Purpose Room

Instructions for Guests:

  • Check in at the TRES Front Office at 1:45 p.m. for a reception in the Staff Lounge.

Chief Kanim Middle School

Veterans Day Assembly

Date:
Friday, Nov. 8
Times: 11:44 a.m. – 12:44 p.m.
(Guests arrive 11:15-11:30 a.m.)
Location: CKMS Gym

Instructions for Guests:
Please proceed to the Gym. No RSVP required.

CKMS is also collecting worn or torn United States flags. Please drop off any damaged flags at the CKMS front office by Friday, November 8, or bring a flag to the assembly. The flags will be honored before being officially retired by a local Boy Scouts troop in a proper ceremony.

Snoqualmie Middle School

Veterans Day Assembly &  Reception

Location: SMS Gym, followed by Reception in the Library

Instructions for Guests: 

Please RSVP to cantrella@svsd410.org.

Check in at the front office before the assembly. ASB officers will escort guests to the gym.

Twin Falls Middle School

Veterans Day Assembly &  Reception

Times: 7:50-8:30 a.m.
Location: TFMS Gym

A light breakfast will be held after teh assembly for the veterans and the boy scouts Instructions

Mount Si High School

Veterans Day Assembly & Breakfast

Date: Thursday, Nov. 7
Times: Assembly starts 9:12 a.m., followed by Breakfast at 10 a.m.
(Guests please arrive by 9 a.m.)
Location: Main Gym 

Special Instructions:

For MSHS students with family members who are current or retired service members, please submit biographical information to Assistant Principal Krista Lallemand by Friday, October 31 to be included in the slideshow.  Please include: Name of the Veteran, Rank, Commendations, Deployments, Places served, and a Photo (prefer in uniform).
