P3 Storytime Squad Savors New Books

Our Parent Partnership Program (P3) was delighted to purchase 14 sets of compelling chapter books (six books per set), thanks to a classroom grant they received from the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation (SVSF) for their Storytime Squad!

In a creative reading activity, P3 Teacher Jessica Johnson introduced the new stories by setting up a special “Storybook Café” for her class of enthusiastic readers in 2nd and 3rd grades to sample the new books! Each student helped develop a unique “menu” to describe the book they chose – adding their review of the book’s cover, description, first few pages, and genre. The students eagerly consumed their shiny new books, and look forward to many more Storytime Squad meals ahead.

Ms. Johnson explained, “The Storytime Squad grant has transformed our classroom into a place where reading feels exciting, meaningful, and connected. It's empowering our learners with rich, shared reading experiences that bridge classroom and home. Our students are not only becoming stronger readers, but they're also building friendships, confidence, and a true love of reading.”

Thanks, Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation, for supporting this sweet opportunity.
