Back-to-School Information 2026-27

We've consolidated key back-to-school information here to help families prepare for the new 2026-27 school year. Be sure to check your school website too, before the first day on August 26. Stay tuned in August for more details regarding transportation, food services, and other important information to ensure a smooth start to the year.

DISTRICT OFFICE HOURS

Hours of operation at the District Office are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The District Office is located at 8001 Silva Ave. SE in downtown Snoqualmie.  

KEY DATES

  • RSVP Process Opens - August 10  (Required for all returning students)
  • School Buildings Open to the Public - Tuesday, Aug. 18
  • Middle School Schedules (available in Skyward Family Access) - Thursday, Aug. 20 at noon 
  • Elementary Class Assignments (available in Skyward Family Access) - Friday, Aug. 21 at noon 
  • High School Schedules (available in Skyward Family Access) - Monday, Aug. 24 at noon
  • First Day of Classes for Grades 1-12, Transition Learning Center (TLC), & Meadowbrook School (MBS) K-12 - Wednesday, Aug. 26
  • First Day of Kindergarten, Preschool/Early Learning Center (ELC) - Monday, Aug. 31
  • Labor Day Holiday - Monday, Sept. 7 (No School)

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - Staggered Start for Grades 6-8 

On the first day of school ONLY, our middle schools will run on a special schedule to support smooth transitions for 6th graders starting middle school.

Schedule Change for All Middle Schools -- Wednesday, August 26: 

  • Grade 6 regular start time (SMS 7:30 a.m.; CKMS & TFMS 7:50 a.m.)
  • Grades 7-8 will start three hours late (SMS 10:30 a.m.; CKMS & TFMS 10:50 a.m.) - First Day Only  Bus riders starting three hours late simply need to add three hours to their morning bus stop pick-up time.

CALENDAR/SCHEDULE

Students receive instruction Monday-Friday during the school year. On Fridays, our district dismisses students two hours early to facilitate teacher collaboration, planning, and professional development. See the Bell Schedule for specific start and stop times.

The district and school website calendars for the 2026-27 school year have been updated. To customize your calendar view, click on "Customize Calendar View" and select the schools you wish to see. Since the calendars are regularly updated, check back often throughout the year.

NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT

Wednesday, Aug. 26, is the first day of school for grades 1-12, TLC and MBS. Monday, Aug. 31, is the first day of Kindergarten & Preschool/Early Learning Center (ELC).

  • New Students to the District: Visit the Online Enrollment webpage to enroll a new student in the Snoqualmie Valley School District. Before beginning online enrollment, we suggest that families have several documents handy so they are ready to upload when requested. The online process takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. 
  • Kindergarten Students: Children who turn 5 by August 31 are eligible for full-day kindergarten. Once enrolled online, our elementary schools will contact each Kindergarten family in August (when staff return from Summer Break) with more information. 

(Returning SVSD students do not need to enroll, as they are automatically registered for the next grade level. Instead, returning families must complete the annual RSVP process for each of their students. See details below.)

RSVP PROCESS  

Our District’s Returning Student Verification Process (RSVP) is now open. All returning families are required to complete the online RSVP process in Skyward Family Access for each of their active students. Student schedules will not be released until their RSVP is completed. (New students do not need to RSVP, since enrollment covered this information already.)

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

  • Preschool - 8th Grades: School supply lists for students entering preschool through 8th grade are the same at all Snoqualmie Valley schools, but vary by grade level. Simply select the grade level your student is entering (P-8) this year: Elementary & Middle School Supply Lists to be ready for the first day of school.  
  • High school students: It’s essential to come on the first day equipped with a pen and notebook. Teachers will provide further guidance on any additional supply needs.

Need Help with School Supplies & Backpacks? If your family needs assistance preparing for the start of school, mark your calendar for the Back to School Essentials 2026. Mount Si Lutheran Church, along with SVA Church and other generous supporters, purchased supplies that align with SVSD’s 2026 school supply lists for students of all ages. During two distribution events, free supplies will be available at the Mt. Si Lutheran Church, located at 411 NE 8th Street in North Bend:  

  • Tuesday, August 18, 2 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., or
  • Wednesday, August 19, 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

No rsvp or registration is required. Simply come to this event designed to ensure every Snoqualmie Valley student has what they need to start school with confidence.

COMMUNICATIONS 

ParentSquare

Snoqualmie Valley School District (SVSD) uses ParentSquare as its primary communication platform. ParentSquare consolidates many of our communication services, including translating messages, emergency/closure notifications, bus delay notices, newsletters, student account balance reminders, attendance updates, and teacher communications.

  • Families of active students will automatically receive emails from the district and their student’s school based on the email addresses they provide to Family Access/Skyward for their student. See parent/guardian information about ParentSquare. Tip: Download the ParentSquare App to access all messages regarding your student or school at any time. Parents with more than one child enrolled in SVSD can access information for all their students and schools in one handy location.
  • Community members can also subscribe to ParentSquare to receive school and district newsletters. 
Emergency Notifications

Our district uses ParentSquare to inform guardians and staff of school closures, late starts, or other school emergencies. Messages may be sent via email notifications, emergency text messages, or call-outs to emergency contacts based on contact information verified in our Skyward student database – during the District’s RSVP Process or new enrollment.

Skyward Family Access

The online Family Access tool allows parents and guardians to manage and monitor their students’ records and progress. They can check their student’s grades, missing assignments, attendance, immunization records, emergency contacts, food purchases, and account balance. Schools provide each family with a unique guardian login/password to ensure the confidentiality of their student’s information. 

PeachJar E-Flyers

Every Tuesday afternoon, parents/guardians receive an update from PeachJar featuring a batch of newly-approved flyers about community events and opportunities for Snoqualmie Valley students. From fun PTSA events, youth camps and after-school enrichment, to kid-friendly community activities, tutoring services and parenting support webinars, there’s something for everyone! 

As a free service for our families, PeachJar offers community partners a way to inform families about local opportunities. Switching to digital flyers also helps our district reduce waste. Through the PeachJar parent portal, you can tailor your interests to only receive flyers that are suited to your student’s age. Check your inbox weekly for new graphic announcements, and stay in the know on community activities for students! 

FOOD SERVICES

Menus: New school menus will be posted online after August 10. Menus will be updated monthly, so be sure to visit the Nutrislice website for students’ options and nutritional information.   

Payments: Meal account balances from last June will automatically roll over to this school year. Families can make online payments to their student’s school meals account after August 15, or send a check to school with their student. 

Meal Costs: No changes 

  • Breakfast: Elementary $2.50; Secondary $2.75; Milk (sold separately) $0.70; Adult $3.75
  • Lunch: Elementary School $4.25; Middle School $4.50; High School $4.75; Milk (sold separately) $0.70; Adult $5.75

Free and Reduced Price School Meals Program

Families must reapply each school year to qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. Complete the 2026-27 school year application in Skyward Family Access, or request a hard copy application from your school or the district office (after Aug. 24). If your family applied and qualified last year, your student’s benefits will expire on October 7, 2026. 

Qualifying families are often eligible for other cost-saving benefits, so it’s very important to apply if needed. Families can apply at any time during the year. Please keep this in mind if your family’s financial circumstances change. Visit the Food Services webpage for more details.

BUS TRANSPORTATION


Updated Routes: Each summer, buses need to be rerouted to serve changing student enrollment and needs. Please check back after August 17 for 2026-27 bus route information.

Families were asked this spring to submit their transportation preferences to help us build accurate routes. If you missed the deadline or need to update your preference, the Transportation Form is available now in Skyward Family Access under Online Forms.

Please select:

  • Yes if your student will be a regular bus rider.

  • No if your student will not regularly use district transportation, including students who only need occasional transportation.

Students who are eligible for transportation can still request occasional bus service by contacting the Transportation Department at least 24 hours in advance.

Middle School Students: See details above, under the “First Day of School - Staggered Start for Grades 6-8” topic, regarding the special middle school schedule on Wednesday, Aug. 26 only.

SmartTags: Our student riders use SmartTag badges to board and exit their buses.

  • Kindergarten and new students to the district will receive their SmartTags within the first couple of weeks of school.

  • Returning students should use the same SmartTag they used last year. If your student lost or misplaced their SmartTag, parents/guardians can reorder one through the Transportation webpage.

During the first few weeks of school, your patience is appreciated as our Transportation Team fine-tunes routes to meet student needs.

CHILD FIND SCREENING 

Do you have questions about your preschooler’s development? Snoqualmie Valley School District routinely hosts developmental screenings for children between ages 3-5 at no cost to families! During the screening, early childhood professionals assess your child’s development in key areas: cognitive, daily living, social, speech & language, and motor skills. If your child shows a developmental need, we offer a continuum of services that allows your child to thrive and grow in their skills.
