SVSD Selects New Principal of Two Rivers & Meadowbrook Schools

The Snoqualmie Valley School District is pleased to announce that, pending School Board approval, Leah Hernandez has been selected as the next principal of Two Rivers School and Meadowbrook School.

Hernandez most recently served as Assistant Principal at Issaquah High School, where she provided leadership for student support systems, special education services, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) implementation, staff supervision, and school improvement initiatives. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating inclusive learning environments, strengthening family partnerships, and developing systems that help every student succeed.

"We were looking for a leader who understands the unique missions of both Two Rivers and Meadowbrook schools while bringing a strong commitment to personalized learning and student success," Superintendent Dan Schlotfeldt said. "Leah's collaborative leadership style, experience supporting diverse learners, and passion for building meaningful relationships made her an outstanding choice."

During the interview process, Hernandez shared her commitment to meeting students where they are and partnering with staff and families to create individualized pathways for success. Her experience includes leading multidisciplinary teams, strengthening intervention systems, supporting special education programming, and using data to improve student outcomes.

Hernandez will replace Catherine Fredenburg, who announced she is moving with her family. Hernandez lives in Snoqualmie and looks forward to serving the community she already calls home.
