Two Rivers School + SVSF Grant = 2 College Visits
Two Rivers School (TRS) students had two opportunities this year to visit two colleges in Washington State, thanks to a generous grant from the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation. To ensure students are exposed to a wide range of post-graduation options, school staff plan to visit different colleges each year – and Bellevue College and Central Washington University were selected this year.
“We are grateful to the SVSF for supporting meaningful college visits to Central Washington University and Bellevue College this year. These experiences are powerful for our students, helping them begin to see themselves in a college setting and imagine what’s possible after high school,” said Two Rivers Principal Catherine Fredenburg.

In October, Central Washington University hosted an outstanding tour attended by 52 TRS students. The high school students were surprised by how close it is to home, the welcoming campus environment, and the variety of programs it offers.
At Bellevue College in March, TRS students were excited to explore a campus where they may participate in Running Start or even attend full-time in the future. The visit highlighted Bellevue’s strong nursing program, sparking interest and inspiration among several students considering careers in healthcare.
Thank you, Schools Foundation, for your tremendous fundraising focus that offers all SVSD students meaningful and memorable learning opportunities to complement their K-12 education in Snoqualmie Valley schools.
