Mount Si German Club Visits Integrierte Gesamtschule Osnabrück
Our Mount Si German Club has embarked on an exciting cultural exchange, visiting our partner school, Integrierte Gesamtschule Osnabrück, in Germany. With 25 Wildcats and two chaperones, the schools have partnered together creating a vibrant group of 50 young ambassadors eager to learn and grow together.
A Warm Welcome and First Impressions
The students arrived this week and were immediately immersed in the rich history and culture of Osnabrück, a city known as the "City of Peace" due to its pivotal role in ending the Thirty Years' War. One of the highlights so far has been visiting the very room where the peace treaty was signed—a powerful moment that brought history to life for all of us.
Team Building and Sightseeing
Our first day was filled with fun team-building activities that helped break the ice and foster new friendships between the Mount Si students and their German counterparts. Afterward, we explored some of the city’s historical landmarks, including the room where the Thirty Years' War treaty was signed, deepening our understanding of Osnabrück’s place in European history.
Living with Host Families
Our students are staying with host families, providing a unique opportunity to experience everyday life in Germany. This immersive experience is more than just a visit—it's a chance to build lasting connections and gain a deeper understanding of German culture.
Looking Ahead
This is just the beginning of our journey. As they continue to explore and learn, we’ll be sharing more pictures and stories from our time here in Osnabrück. We hope these experiences will inspire others to participate in such exchange programs, promoting cultural understanding and global friendship.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our adventure in Osnabrück!
