One-to-One Device Agreement

Snoqualmie Valley School District (SVSD) issues each 6–12 grade student a device to promote academic achievement and provide flexible learning opportunities.

This agreement outlines expectations for students and families. More detailed information can be found in the One-to-One Device Handbook .

Important: Failure to comply with this agreement may result in limited or full removal of access to devices, the internet, and digital services. Students may also be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the SVSD Student Code of Conduct.

Student Expectations

Monitoring

All SVSD devices come installed with a web filter and a student wellness monitoring tool. This tool analyzes activity on school-issued accounts and devices—such as emails, documents, searches, and AI prompts—to identify early warning signs of student distress, including bullying, violence, self-harm, or suicidal ideation.

It does not monitor personal devices unless students are accessing school-issued accounts. When concerns are identified, alerts are reviewed by trained staff who follow up and provide support as appropriate.

We ask that parents/guardians partner with us to monitor student activity, especially outside of school hours. Families may also use ApParent to help manage screen time and monitor content. Visit the Family Tech Resources page to get started.

Fines

SVSD is responsible for ensuring that taxpayer-funded equipment is well cared for. Students must return devices and accessories in good working order when requested or upon leaving the district. Fines up to the full replacement cost may be assessed at administrator discretion.

Student Safety*

  1. Do not share personal information or communicate with unknown individuals.
  2. Cyberbullying or online threats are strictly prohibited and may result in discipline or legal consequences.
  3. Devices are filtered on all networks (school, home, or otherwise).
  4. If inappropriate content is accessed, report it immediately to staff.
  5. All digital activity on district devices is not private and may be monitored at any time.

Acknowledgement

Checking the box in Skyward Family Access indicates that students and parents/guardians have read and agree to these expectations and accept responsibility for proper use and care of district-issued technology.

Failure to comply may result in loss of access and disciplinary action in accordance with the SVSD Student Code of Conduct.

*Important Safety Note: Information indicating imminent danger to a person or school may result in a 911 response. Families will be notified as soon as possible.
