Bus Delay Communication

Our district uses a communication tool called ParentSquare to combine multiple communication streams into one convenient interface for families and staff. In an effort to consolidate our tools and simplify communications, we have also transitioned all transportation notifications regarding specific bus routes to ParentSquare.
Since Skyward Family Access and ParentSquare are tied together, families will automatically receive notifications when delays -- of 10 minutes or longer -- are anticipated to their student’s specific bus route. Similar to how the district notifies families about weather-related closures, communication about delays of a specific route will be sent via a brief text and email message, in the family's preferred home language. Notices will only go to families whose students ride a route that is impacted.
Our district also uses the SMART Tag Parent Portal that allows families to track their student’s locations and set their preferences for specific notifications.
To ensure you receive timely information about delays, your contact information (phone and email) must be accurate in Skyward Family Access. If you need to update your information or report that your student no longer needs transportation services, please get in touch with your student’s school office.
If you’d like to see all school communications in one handy location, download the ParentSquare App. Also, learn more about ParentSquare here.
