Bus Delay Communication

ParentSquare Logo

This year, our district adopted a new communication tool called ParentSquare. This tool is engineered to combine multiple communication streams into one convenient interface for families and staff. As we continue to consolidate tools and simplify our communications, we are excited to announce that all transportation notifications regarding specific bus routes will soon move to ParentSquare.

This means Bus Bulletin will no longer be used to communicate delays, and families will no longer be required to sign-up each year. Since Skyward Family Access and ParentSquare are tied together, families will automatically receive notifications when delays impact their student’s specific bus routes. This transition in services will take place on Monday, March 20. Our district will continue using the SMART Tag Parent Portal to allow families to track their student’s locations and set their preferences for specific notifications.

Communication about delays will be sent via a brief text and email message, similar to how the district notifies families about weather closures. Notices will only go to families whose students ride a route that is impacted (for delays of 10 minutes or more) and communicated in their preferred home language.

To ensure you receive timely information about delays, your contact information (phone and email) must be accurate in Skyward Family Access. If you need to update your information or report that your student no longer needs transportation services, please get in touch with your student’s school office.

More information about ParentSquare can be found on our website. If you’d like to see all school communications in one handy location, make sure to download the ParentSquare App.
