As we start the 2014-2015 school year, I am happily amazed to realize that I have been a member of the Snoqualmie Valley School District for twenty years, teaching all of them at Two Rivers. My subjects have been Art, English and Social Studies classes at various grade levels.  This year, I will be teaching a combined English and World History/Current World Problems class called 'Humanities' for both 9th and 10th grade Language Arts Credit.  I will also be teaching 11th and 12th grade English this year, with Drama to come in the second semester.  I will still be teaching Art, as usual (yay!). For those who might be curious, in my spare time I am usually engaged in painting, reading or writing, and I enjoy discussing these hobbies with anyone with similar interests . . . or ears.
I grew up in Oregon, moving from the Williamette Valley to Central Oregon when I was fifteen. I found the opportunity to reinvent myself enormously helpful. After graduating there, I went to college in San Antonio, TX, at Trinity University, where I graduated with degrees in Classical Studies (archaeology) and Theater Design. From Trinity I also earned my Masters in the Art of Teaching. I returned forthwith to the beautiful Northwest and was fortunate to find a home here.
I am looking forward to the 2014-2015 school year. Please contact me if you have any questions about the program or the classes I teach. Good luck to you in the year ahead!
