     Dear Fall City Families,

On behalf of the staff at Fall City Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year!  As a staff, we hope you enjoyed summer break and look forward to a phenomenal year ahead.

It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself, Katelyn Long, as the newly appointed Principal of Fall City Elementary.  I appreciate the opportunity to serve the Fall City community and look forward to partnering with such a supportive community and outstanding student body.

My passion for education and dedication to supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the years as a teacher, instructional facilitator, and assistant principal.  I have previously served students and their families in the Bellingham, Peninsula, and Snoqualmie Valley School Districts.  In each of my roles, I have sought to ensure success for all students through high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

As you are well aware, Fall City Elementary has a history of immense pride and excellence.  The responsibility of our staff in educating your child is a privilege.  As the new leader, my goal is to continue to build upon the great work the Fall City Elementary community has accomplished over the years and use the strong foundation established under previous leadership to continue to move Fall City Elementary to the next level.

Additionally, I would like to introduce our new Assistant Principal, Robin Earl, and welcome her to the Snoqualmie Valley School District.  Robin brings a wealth of experience from the Issaquah School District and will serve as the Assistant Principal at both Fall City and Opstad Elementary this coming year.  Ms. Earl will be at Fall City Elementary on Mondays, Tuesdays, and alternating Fridays and looks forward to meeting students and families in the coming days.

Once again, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to serve the FCES community in this new capacity.  An exemplary education is not possible without the great collaboration of students, parents, and staff.  Together we will continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities and academic excellence for all of our students.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to discuss.  I look forward to building relationships and serving your family.  It is going to be a great year!

    Warmly,

    Katelyn Long
