Message from Mr. Norberg regarding new masking mandate
The State’s mask mandate is being lifted and the first day that this impacts our school is Monday, March 14th. Until this date, masks are still required indoors. With each new change that COVID has brought our way, there have been a wide range of emotional responses; the change in mask requirements is no exception. SES is committed to supporting staff, students and their families in their choice and fostering respect and kindness toward each other. While some families are enthusiastically counting down the final days of the mandate, others may be feeling fear and uncertainty. Regardless of your family’s future masking choices, please know that our entire staff is working hard to set a tone of understanding, acceptance, and kindness. Our counselor, Mrs. Bates, has started the conversation in classrooms about the changes to come and how we can respect and support one another. Students are encouraged to discuss this decision with their families prior to Monday, 3/14, if they have not already done so. Below is a resource that may help guide your conversation.
