Middle School Behavioral Health Screening

This school year, all middle schools in the Snoqualmie Valley School District, in partnership with King County, will begin a second year of implementing a school-based program called SBIRT. The acronym SBIRT stands for: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Services. The goal of the SBIRT initiative is to promote positive mental health and reduce adolescent substance abuse, by helping identify students who may need extra support and connecting them with the resources they may need to thrive.

All 7th and 8th grade students, at all three middle schools, will be screened in the first semester. A letter will go home to each family with exact screening dates for your student with more information about SBIRT. Additionally, there is SBIRT information on the district website for reference. https://www.svsd410.org/Page/7896
