Return to HeadlinesStudents are required to meet eligibility standards to participate in sports in the areas of grades, attendance, behavior, doctor approval, residency, medical insurance, etc. The clearance process will check for these areas, and more, to determine eligibility. Only cleared athletes may participate in the first day of tryouts or practice.
Registration for WINTER SPORTS is OPEN!
All athletes must have a current physical. Physicals are valid for 24 months from the date of the exam and must be current the entire sports season. If you are a freshman, your physical rolls up from your middle school. Physical Forms are available for your doctor's signature. If you are unsure of the last physical we have on record for you, email Tammy Frederick or check Family Access under the Health Info tab (PC version only; the app does not have this feature presently). Attach a copy of your new physical when you register, fax to 425-831-8222, or scan and email.
Athletes are required to have adequate medical insurance. If you would like to purchase primary or supplemental medical or dental insurance for your child, affordable plans are available through the school district. Pick up an enrollment form in the office.
Additionally, athletes need to meet grade, attendance and behavior expectations. Please see the Athletic Handbook. Athletes need to attend school full-time. (The WIAA and MSHS define a full-time student as passing six of seven classes). Running Start and Home-Based School Students are required to complete the WIAA contracts. To avoid academic probation, athletes need a 2.0 GPA or higher and must be passing all classes (in the previous semester). Regular grade checks are then conducted throughout the sports season in the current semester.
