CLARIFICATION for MSHS SENIORS (added 1/31/20)
The last day of classes for Mount Si High School seniors will be Thursday, June 18 -- during which “senior check-out,” graduation rehearsal and a senior group photo will take place. Finals for seniors will happen Tuesday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 17.
Announcement from January 23, 2020:
As a result of the four weather-related school closures on January 13, 14, 16 and 17, 2020, the following dates will be added to the Snoqualmie Valley School District 2019-20 school year to make up required instructional time for student learning:
Monday, June 22, 2020
Tuesday, June 23
Wednesday, June 24
Thursday, June 25
All students and staff should report to school on these days.
The SVSD 2019-20 school calendar, which was adopted in May 2018, designates five dates as potential make-up days at the end of the school year, if needed. The changes above utilize four of those five dates.
Please note the following CHANGES to the school district calendar:
The last day of school for grades K-11, is now Thursday, June 25, 2020.
The last day of the District Preschool Program will be Wednesday, June 24.
The last day of the Transition Learning Center (TLC) program will be Wednesday, June 17.
Update for MSHS SENIORS: The last day of classes for Mount Si High School seniors will be Thursday, June 18 -- during which “senior check-out,” graduation rehearsal, and a senior group photo will take place. Finals for seniors will happen Tuesday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 17.
Class of 2020 graduation events will take place as follows:
Two River High School’s graduation date will remain Wednesday, June 10 – no change.
The TLC celebration is now Wednesday, June 17. (This is a change from June 11.)
Mount Si High School’s graduation date will remain Friday, June 19 – no change.
At this time, the two remaining Staff Professional Development dates on the SVSD school calendar - January 27 and March 9 - will remain in place. These (non-student) Staff PD days were negotiated with the Snoqualmie Valley Education Association (teachers’ union), and provide valuable training, collaboration and planning time to improve student learning. This time also reflects the District’s investment in quality professional development and commitment to excellent teaching.
With more weeks of winter ahead, please keep in mind that if severe weather conditions necessitate another school closure this year, the last day of school may still be affected. If additional make-up time is needed, the District will reassess its options at that time, including the possibility of a waiver of make-up days.
