National Honor Society 2020-2021

National Honor Society Information for the Class of 2021, 2022 and 2023

June 2020

Dear current freshmen, sophomores, juniors and parents,

Mount Si High School is proud to offer students the opportunity to join MSHS National Honor Society or "NHS."   Students who wish to apply for National Honor Society membership must meet the following criteria:

  • Scholarship:  Students must have a  cumulative GPA of 3.5on a 4.0 scale.
  • Service:  This involves voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation. Mount Si's NHS Chapter requires 10 hours of volunteer service be completed by August 31st.
  • Leadership:  Student leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem  solvers, and idea contributors. Leadership experiences can be drawn from  school or community activities while working with or for others.
  • Character:  The student of good character is cooperative; demonstrates high  standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and  respect for others; and generally maintains a clean disciplinary record.

Applications will be available on September 1 in Rm. 4303 and on the Mount Si High School National Honor Society website. All members of the Class of 2021, 2022 and 2023 who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and have completed 10 hours of community service by August 31st may apply.  Once you have been accepted, there will be an induction ceremony in October.  More information will be given to you after the induction ceremony in the fall.

Current members do not need to reapply. You just need to maintain a 3.5 GPA and continue to volunteer.

Please check the NHS website periodically in the summer and Sept. for up-to-date information  as adjustments may be made.

Enjoy your summer and I look forward to meeting our new members in the fall.
