Fifteen Seniors receive College Board National Recognition
The College Board National Recognition Programs create pathways to college for students from underrepresented communities by awarding them academic honors and connecting them with universities across the country. This program was made available last spring to students that scored in the top 2.5% of PSAT/NMSQT test takers who identify as one of the following: African American, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous or attend school in a rural area or are from a small town. The students also must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 by the middle of their junior year.
Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT and are African American, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, or attend school in a rural area or small town, may be invited to apply for academic recognition as part of the College Board National Recognition Program.
We congratulate the following Seniors who have been recognized as National Recognition Program Scholars:
National Rural and Small Town Recognition:
Sam Huseman Aileen Cha Turner McCutchan William Kim Logan Garwood
Sullivan McLaughlin Tara Sreekumar Kate Johnson* Aahir Ghosh Emma Tuttle
Owen Walker Malakhi Wheton Raymond Silverman* Anika Cusimano Dylan Scott*
* also received National Hispanic Program Recognition
The National Reconition Program grants students academic honors that can be included on college applications. Colleges use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups who have excelled on their PSAT/NMSQT and in their classrooms.
We are very proud of these students and congratulate them on this recognition.
Well done, Wildcats!
