Greetings Students and Wildcat Families! 
 
Welcome back to a new school year at Mount Si High School. 
 
We are excited to announce we are going back to “as normal” a school experience as humanly possible, while still ensuring staff and student safety! We know we are all different in what we are comfortable with in regards to COVID. Please know that our goal is to meet all required Department of Health Guidelines and to be in compliance with the Governor's orders while bringing back as many school traditions and rituals that make High School a special time! 
 
To our new students and incoming freshmen, welcome to Wildcat Country! You are going to love it at Mount Si High School. We have been eagerly preparing for your return and have also been busy hiring exceptional teachers, counselors, paraeducators, and coaches to join our staff. 
This letter contains important information and dates for you and your family as you prepare for the start of school. Student class schedules will be released in Family Access by 4:00pm on Friday, August 27th. Our Week of Welcome will begin with a student orientation on August 30th.
 
August 30th: Wildcat Day: New Student Orientation. Please click HERE for the schedule and information.
 
August 31st: First Day of School- Periods 1 – 7 with Advisory (Indicated as 8th Period on schedule) 
 
August 31st – September 10th: Special Two-Week Schedule   
 
September 6th: Labor Day, No School 
 
September 9th: School Picture Day – please dress prepared for pictures; no hats and appropriate school attire 
 
September 13th: Regular Bell Schedule begins
 
September 22nd: Curriculum Night- TBD 
 
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 
 
Updated Covid Protocols: This year, the most recent guidance from the Department of Health gives our schools much more flexibility to meet the requirement that we bring all students back to school for full-time in-person learning and keep students in school. 
 
WHAT’S THE SAME THIS YEAR? 
 
Masking: Universal masking is required indoors.  
Staying home when sick: Students and staff will be expected to stay home when they are sick. 
Vaccination: We are continuing to promote COVID vaccination for eligible individuals. 
Hand washing: We are continuing to teach, promote and expect regular hand washing/sanitizing. Hand sanitizer will still be readily available. 
Limited access to building: Only designated entry points will be available for entry to the building. 
Following directional building signage: Students & staff will keep appropriate distancing in hallways, always stay to the right. 
Isolation: COVID-positive individuals will still be required to quarantine. 
Notification: All close contacts of a COVID positive individual will be contacted. 
 
WHAT’S DIFFERENT THIS YEAR? 
 
Masking: Masks no longer required for students, staff, and visitors when outdoors. 
Physical distancing in classrooms: We will be spacing students to 3-foot distancing. 
Physical distancing in lunchroom: We will have limited seating capacity at tables. 
Attestations: Attestations will not be required. 
Close Contact: is now considered within 3’ for more than 15 mins in 24 hours without a mask. 
Vaccination reporting: Please click here for information on reporting your student’s vaccination. 
 
 
 
  • Please familiarize yourself with our Drop Off locations (Pick Up will occur in the same location
  • Parking Lot map (For all oversize vehicles, 7’ and above in height, parking ONLY in North Lot) 
  • Student Parking – parking permit applications will be available beginning on Monday, August 23r
 
Parking Permit paperwork must be complete in order to obtain a parking permit!
 
One to One Devices
  • Please see the One to One Device Student and Parent Handbook for policies and procedures for student laptops. 
  • The SVSD One-to-One Initiative provides all 9-12 grade students with a laptop. Full time Running Start students will not be assigned a laptop. 
 
 
Lockers
  • There are no general lockers in our building, please plan accordingly. 
  • PE Lockers will be assigned by semester. 
  • Athletic lockers will be assigned seasonally. 
 
Communication at MSHS:  
  • Schoology: teachers and staff use Schoology communications. 
  • Check our website first for accurate information It is updated daily.

Mandatory Forms
Please visit the registration forms webpage, to print and complete the required forms. Be prepared to turn in the required forms to the main office by Friday, September 10th. . 
 
Schedule Corrections  
Schedules will be posted to family access no later than 4:00m on Friday, August 27th. The schedule correction request form will be available from Tuesday, August 31st , at 7:00 AM, to Tuesday, September 7th, at 3:30PM.
 
 
To submit a schedule correction request, please visit the Counseling College & Career page and complete the google form titled “21-22 Schedule Correction Request”. Your counselor will review the request and either change your schedule or email you and let you know why the change was not possible. This could take a few days. Please be patient.
     
Priority is given to: 
  • Seniors missing graduation requirements 
  • Students scheduled in a class that they have already completed 
  • Students enrolled in too many or too few classes 
  • Students who have a health condition that prevents them from taking a class 
  • Students misplaced in a sequential course  
  • Students who have not met prerequisites for a class     
  
We will not be able to accommodate teacher change requests.
