Back to School Information

Important Information

  • First Two Weeks Bell Schedule - We want our students to feel welcome at MSHS and that starts by providing time to engage in activities that can support their success. We will provide time to become familiar with all seven teachers, adjust to their advisory classroom, and participate in several activities to build an understanding of our school climate and culture. Our goal is to end the two weeks with all Wildcats knowing our theme for the year, how they can be their best self as a student and community member, and know their resources while they are here.  This process will ensure consistent communication in three ways using our new Student Handbook, engage with teachers on behavior and academic expectations, and meet with administrators to share in our Wildcat Spirit.

  • New Weekly Schedule for 2022-2023 - We have changed our block schedules on Thursday and Friday slightly for the upcoming year. We have reduced the amount of advisory time to add back some instructional minutes on Thursday, and added a designated time for our very popular Wildcat TV in our Friday schedule. In addition, students and families can expect to see a redesign of our advisory program with more consistent High School and Beyond content delivery, as well as more built-in intervention time through check and connect. Lastly, our Friday 7th period schedule has been altered to allow for one lunch at the end of the academic day. All our Wildcats are more than welcome to stay and eat and socialize until the normal school end time of 12:29 pm. However, those students who drive or have transportation and would like to be released early on these Fridays (at the end of the academic day, and the start of lunch) may be signed out for the year by submitting THIS FORM. We will be evaluating this model three weeks into the year to ensure it is working for our fantastic food services team. We will communicate any changes that may occur after that time.
